About The Yoginis Indian Jazz Project

Founded by Pianist Yogi McCaw and Tablas Maestro Vishal Nagar, The Yoginis Indian Jazz Project delivers exciting, fresh sounds fusing Indian Classical, American Jazz, Brazilian Samba, Afro-Cuban and Caribbean rhythms. We explore new territory while respecting our roots. The songs are truly collaborative compositions of Yogi, Vishal, and singer Ujwal Nagar (who is also lead vocalist for the acclaimed Indian rock band Advaita).

The Yoginis Indian Jazz Project  recently debuted in Delhi, India in the Evolution of Music event sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, India, and highly-respected Kuchipudi Dance Academy of Delhi.

We followed up with a well-received USA debut in Seattle area at the 2nd Annual Ananda Mela Festival of India sponsored by the City of Redmond (best known for being the hometown of Microsoft) , The Vedic Cultural Center, and The 4Culture Arts Organization.

We have been featured on the Jazz Network Worldwide, won finalist in the WOMEX 2009 songwriting contest, called “Truly one of a kind”  by Steve Getz, (Stan Getz's son), and heard in the award winning “Dalai Lama Renaissance” documentary.

CD Baby Founder Derek Sivers says "Yogi McCaw is the best!"
